A famous person: Elvis Presley

Elvis Aaron Presley was born on the 8 of January of 1935 in Tupelo, Missisipi, USA, and he died on the 16 of August of 1977 in Memphis, Tenesse, USA. People called him “The king of rock and roll” because he was a very famous singer, musician and actor. He died when he was 42 years old because of excessive consumption of prescribed drugs.

He practise music and singing when he was 12 years old and he became famous when he was 21 . He haves lots of songs and they were very popular.

He was nominated to 14 Grammy prizes, but he won 3.

The animal in this photo is a polar bear.

Polar bears live i the Arctic, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway. They live and hunt on the ice. The Arctic ice is smaller because the climate is changing. Polar bears usually eat seals. Adult polar bears are 750 kilos.They can swim more than 150 kilometres. Females have two cubs every four or five years.

Pollution is a problem, especially oil. Humans hunt polar bears in some areas.

The animal in this photo is a squirrel.

Squirrels live in the forests of all the  world. They live and feed in the trees. Squirrels usually eat pine cones. Squirrels are from 250 to 340 kilos. The male and the female have the same physic qualities. They have very good view and can calculate perfect the jump distance.

Deforestation is a problem because  trees squirrels have no place to live

Hello, I’m Lluís Sala and I send you this email to give you information about my school.

My subjects are Catalan, Spanish, English, maths, history, science, technology, PE, ITC, art, tutory, religion and the KET preparation. I start school at nine o’clock and I finish at five o’clock, then I do extra activities. My extra activities are rowing, playing tennis, art practising and English classes.

At school we have a canteen, but I only go at the canteen on Thursday and the other days I go home. The menu is different every week and it’s varied food.

Banyoles is a little town in Catalonia, Spain. It's got a population of about 18.000, and in summer there's a lot of tourism. There's a very beautiful lake. There's a legend about the Banyoles lake dragon.

I like Banyoles because it's a beautiful place with lots of vegetation and it's a very friendly and nice town. The tourists come in summer because they can swim in the lake and take very beautiful photos of the vegetation. There's a restaurant with one michelin star called “Ca l'arpa”. My favourite place is the swimming club of Banyoles, because you can go swimming, go rowing, go kayaking...

Banyoles is about 120 kilometres from Barcelona. The only public transport here are the TEISA buses and if you want to go by plane you have to go to Barcelona or Girona airport.

My day

Normally I get up at eight o'clock, I have breakfast at quarter past eight and I go by bike to school at quarter to nine. I finish school at one o'clock and I have lunch, then I go to school at three o'clock and I finish at five o'clock. I do extra activities, I do my homework and I have a shower. At nine o'clock I have dinner and at quarter to eleven I go to bed.

My week

Monday, Tuesday and Thursday I get up at eight o'clock, I have breakfast at quarter past eight and I go by bike to school at quarter to nine. I finish school at one o'clock and I have lunch, then I go to school at three o'clock and I finish at five o'clock. I do the extra activities, I do my homework and I do the washing up. At nine o'clock I have dinner and at quarter to eleven I go to the bed.

Wednesday and Friday I get up at half past seven, I have breakfast at quarter to eight and I go by bike to school at ten past eight. I finish school at three o'clock and I have lunch. I go to the extra activities, I have a shower and I do my homework. I have dinner and I go to bed.

My Weekend

In winter I go skiing in la Molina. I get up at eight o'clock, I have breakfast at quarter past eight and at five to nine I go to the training. I finish the training at two o'clock and I have dinner, then I do my homework or I play with friends.

The rest of the year on Saturdays at half past nine I go rowing and then I do my homework, I play with friends. On Sunday often I've got a lunch with my family or friends, if I don't have any lunch I help my dad or I go by bike...
